From Richmond Station take the light-controlled crossing to the left of the station entrance. Cross the road and continue into the alleyway which runs under Oriel House.

The beautiful Asgill House Copper Beech has now been felled, reportedly because of fungal infection. It can't have helped, however, that it had previously suffered a brutal pruning that turned it into more of a pole than a tree, apparently because of the danger of falling limbs.
